For those of you who aren't familiar with the 48 Hour Film Project, it's a contest in which teams compete to make a short film start-to-finish in 48 hours. Based on The Kumbio Takedown, our city-winning film for DC this year, we got invited to take part in the Panasonic-sponsored HD Showdown this year. Lizzie Strada here was the film we made, and it was good enough to win us a brand-spankin'-new Panasonic HVX200a HD camera (which is so new it hasn't even hit the streets yet). This makes "Lizzie" the most profitable film I've ever made by 54,085,089 times.
The version we have here is slightly fixed up from the true 48-hour version (which invariably is a little rougher around the edges than we'd like). But it's nothing major-- we fixed a couple edit issues, some sound mix issues, re-did the credits, that sort of thing. If you're a purist and you want to see what we turned in on the day, you can always check it out at 48.tv.
Many thanks to the gang at the 48 Hour Film Project and Panasonic for putting this all together, and of course choosing us as winners, which has finally corroborated a lot of things my mother has been telling me for years.
